When Celeste visited the studio for her newborn shoot, she was joined not only by her parents and big sister, but the two family dogs as well. In all my years of shooting, this was the first time I’ve ever been asked to incorporate fur babies into a session and I have to admit, I did question how it successful it would be. I mean, they do say never to work with animals and children, right? Sometimes it’s an epic feat just to get a toddler to sit still – how on earth was I meant to micro-manage a toddler AND her canine companions?
It turns out the dogs are the extremely suspicious type and they barely took their eyes off me – they certainly weren’t shy in letting me know they didn’t consider me in their circle of trust! However, the massive shade they were throwing my way completely worked to our advantage and in the end, we were able to get a great family shot!
Here’s a few of the images we took during their session – including one with my new doggy friends 😉
