It can be a little bit daunting going back to the baby stage at a time when your other children are becoming self-sufficient. I know I was a little nervous thinking about the sleepless nights and seemingly endless feeds before my second daughter was born. While many parents prefer to have their children close together, there’s something equally wonderful about having a decent gap between pregnancies. Older children are generally much more understanding of the limitations of your time (and patience!) when you’re in the depths of the newborn fog and you can usually count on them being so besotted by their younger sibling, they’ll do anything to help.
Having two daughters already, Kristi and Adam recently welcomed a third baby girl and if they were ever worried about how she would fit into their family dynamic, they needn’t have. Watching her big sisters fawn over her, it was like she’d been with them forever.
